OAB Michael Monty Scholarship

Each year the Ontario Association of Broadcasters invites broadcast educators to nominate their students for the Michael Monty Scholarship Award. Michael Monty spent more then 33 years as a Professor at Seneca College. During that time, he was heavily involved in the Broadcast Educators Association of Canada (BEAC), in fact he was the President for six years. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) and the Ontario Association of Broadcasters (OAB). His contributions to students’ success in careers across the country through his involvement of both the BEAC and RTNDA, has made a genuine difference in our industry, touching the lives of thousands of students. In 2005, we lost Michael and his contribution to future broadcasters in Ontario.  To honour Michael, the OAB presents the Michael Monty Student scholarship award.  This cash award is given to a student, nominated by an Ontario faculty member, selected by the OAB awards committee.
