The Ontario Association of Broadcasters’ CONNECTION 2017 will be held on Thursday, November 9th at the Marriott Toronto Airport Hotel.
This annual conference continues to pack sales training, great speakers and industry experts all into a one-day conference, providing great value for your time out of the office.
Radio is a local medium and reaches listeners in every corner of Canada regardless of the size of the market. Radio’s reach is at 87% of Canadians 12+, which translates to 27.4 million people each week. Time spent per listener at 16.6 hours per week. Nearly half of radio tuning is done at home, over a third in the car and 20% at work.
Career Day has continued to grow every year assisting students with the how to’s of finding their way in Broadcasting. The OAB members continually support this worthwhile event by donating time and resources. Career Day has become a integral part of many broadcast programs across Ontario.
This year, there were 50 broadcast professionals who volunteered to talk with 366 students, from 12 post secondary broadcast schools, for this unique event.
The Ontario Association of Broadcasters was established in 1950, originally as the Central Canada Broadcasters Association, to serve the common interests of privately owned radio and television station operators in the province. Membership is open to Radio and Television stations licensed in Ontario. Post-secondary schools, businesses and organizations with an interest in the broadcast industry are eligible for associate membership.
